====== Copenhagen ====== I enjoyed our stay in Copenhagen --- it's a large, modern city full of bikes and food for thought. We've installed [[https://copenhagencard.com/|Copenhagen Card]] applications on our phones, because there's no other way to access museums and public transport easily. Of course it's only available on [[:gafam|Google Play and Apple Store]]... ===== Sep. 2nd ===== * [[https://designmuseum.dk/en/|Design Museum Denmark]] --- quite interesting, lots of interesting designs and concepts from both distant and recent past. * [[https://reffen.dk/en/|Reffen]] --- It's just another place to practice consumerism and show off. I'd never go there if I knew what a terrible place it was. * [[wp>Freetown Christiania]] --- a wonderful place governed by consensus democracy. I felt safe and calm there, despite being in the heart of a large European city. It's beautiful but of course troubled by the capitalist surrounding. I recommend [[https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=55.67382&mlon=12.60319#map=19/55.67382/12.60319|Morgenstedet]], a little cafe where we had some juice. ===== Sep. 3th ===== * [[https://frederiksbergmuseerne.dk/en/cisternerne/|Cisternerne]] --- a [[wp>Cistern]] adapted and opened for the public as an art gallery. Thanks to its incredible size and particularly long reverb it has a very church-like feel. * [[https://copenhagencontemporary.org/en/|Contemporary Copenhagen]] --- a large gallery for modern art. The opening installation "data-verse" (by Ryoji Ikeda), part of [[https://copenhagencontemporary.org/en/yet-it-moves/|Yet it Moves!]], was particularly impressive. * [[wp>Nyhavn]] ===== Sep. 4th ===== * Canal tour --- starting from [[https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=55.67758&mlon=12.58046#map=18/55.67758/12.58046|Ved Stranden]]. I've taken one of the seats at the very end to take pictures and had to sniff fumes for the next hour, but the view was stunning. * [[https://en.natmus.dk/museums-and-palaces/the-national-museum-of-denmark/|National Museum]] ([[https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=55.67437&mlon=12.57484#map=17/55.67437/12.57484|location]]) --- a huge museum giving one an insight into the history of Denmark, from its earliest colonisation to modern day struggles. * [[https://dac.dk/en/|Danish Architecture Center]] --- a wonderful place for any person interested in architecture and/or design. ===== Sep. 5th ===== * [[https://www.smk.dk/en/|State's Museum of Art]] (SMK, for "Statens Museum for Kunst") --- a large art museum, also very interesting but while it focuses on Danish art, there are works of other artists too. * [[wp>Rigshospitalet]] ([[https://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=55.6963&mlon=12.5661#map=16/55.6963/12.5661|location]]) --- the hospital known from the [[https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0108906/|Riget]] series by [[wp>Lars von Trier]].
