• Computer metaphor of the brain isn't very useful or helpful.
• All the past metaphors were based on most recent discoveries or inventions of their time but usually very far from the brain. For example: hydraulic machines in 3rd century BCE or complex machines in 17th century.
• Simple experiments with drawing a dollar bill from memory show how little detail we can recall, while anyone can recognise that bill when they see it.
